Larry Gene Barnes, 77, of Grand Rapids, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday,
March 15, 2014.
He was surrounded by his loving wife Kathy and friends at his bedside at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in
Perrysburg, OH.
He was born June 29, 1936 in Toledo, OH to Casper and Isabell (Croll) Barnes.
Larry graduated from Grand Rapids High School in 1956.
He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged.
Larry worked as a car detailer at Don Scott Chevrolet in Whitehouse, OH for 14 years. He retired in 2005.

He was a member of Amazing Grace Baptist Church, Grand Rapids Masonic Lodge #289 and the Grand Rapids
American Legion #232.
He married Kathleen (Jones) August 22, 1996. They were married for 17 years.
She survives along with three stepdaughters, Dawn (Chris) Poland of Delaware, OH, Cindy (Charles)
Campbell of Lancaster, OH, Margaret (Lawrence) McKean of Marion, OH; stepson, Thomas (Amber) Jicha of
London, OH; four stepgrandchildren; nephews, Steve (Jean) Barnes of Van Wert, OH, Tim (Ginny) Barnes and
Bill Barnes, both of St. Mary’s, OH; sister-in-law, Eileen Sponsel of Spencerville, OH; cousins, John
and Sally Rigs of Bridgeport, VT, Joe and wife Rigs of VT, and Vic and Mary VanAudenhove of TX; and many
other cousins, nephews, nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may call on Larry’s family Wednesday, March 19, 2014 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Peinert Dunn
Funeral Home, Whitehouse, OH. A Masonic Service will be at 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Pastor Perry Teet will officiate.

Interment will follow at Weston Cemetery.
The family suggests giving memorial contributions to the Barnes family of Hospice or Northwest Ohio,
Perrysburg, OH.
