Karen P. Meter, age 66, of Pemberville, OH, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2014 in the loving arms
of her husband and best friend of 47 years and family at St. Luke’s Hospital, Maumee, OH.
She was born on April 13, 1947 in Toledo, OH to Wyatt and Mary Ellen (Rothgeb) Risner. On January 8, 1966
she married Jerry Meter in Monroe, MI, and eventually settled in Bradner, OH, to raise their family.
Karen enjoyed being a clerk for the Wood County Probate Court, Bowling Green, OH, before retiring to her
dream job of "Doting Grandma."
Being a member of Zoar Lutheran Church Perrysburg, OH, was an important source of strength in her life.
One of her favorite trips was her annual shopping spree to Shipshewana with best friend Marshia.
She loved being pool side laughing and entertaining. She truly cherished the time she spent with her
family and adored her grandchildren. She will remain forever in their hearts.
Karen is survived by her husband, Jerry; children, Jodi (Richard) Zapparato of Perrysburg, Aaron
(Heather) Meter of Pemberville; grandchildren, Ashley, Owen, Matthew, Grace and Lila; sister, Kathy
(Phil) Gerken of Whitehouse; brothers, Mike Risner of Whitehouse, Neal (Linda) Risner of Toledo, Eric
(Chris) Risner of Perrysburg; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Nicholas Meter.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Luke’s Hospital, ICC for their kindness and for taking
such good care of her.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Marsh Funeral
Home, 110 Main Street, Luckey, OH, where funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, February 20,
2014 at 11 a.m. Officiating will Rev. Timothy Philabaum.
Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Napoleon, OH.
