Dean Woodruff, 73, of North Baltimore, died at 10:05 a.m. Thursday, March 13, 2014, at Briar Hill Health
Campus, North Baltimore.
He was born on July 17, 1940, to the late Earl and Marie (McCartney) Woodruff. He married Carol McDonald
and they were divorced. He later married Paula Whitehead on July 1, 1982, and she survives.
Dean is also survived by his daughters: Linda (Gene) Laborie of Bloomdale and Deana Woodruff of
Bloomdale; his stepdaughter, Jada Hillard of Carey; his sisters: Connie Murlin of North Baltimore, Cindy
(Bob Bartram) Moore of Bloomdale and Sally (Carl) Singer of IL; his half-brother, Robert Greeno of
Findlay; his sister-in-law, Marie Woodruff; his grandchildren: Matthew, Dalton, Jessica and Rachael; his
great-grandchildren, David and Zoey; and his beloved dog, Chance.
Dean was preceded in death by his twin sister, Deanna Woodruff, and his brother, Larry Woodruff.
Dean was retired from Union Carbide in Fostoria.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of North Baltimore American Legion Post 539 and F.O.E. #2633. He
also retired after 10 years on the Bloomdale Fire Department.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 2014, at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North
Baltimore, with Wayne Combs officiating, and full military rites being conducted by the North Baltimore
American Legion Post 539.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore, and one
hour prior to the service on Sunday.
