Darrell L. Reef, age 78, of Gibsonburg, OH, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 3, 2014 at Mercy
St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Toledo, OH.
He was born on September 15, 1935 in Gibsonburg, OH, to Louis and Esther (Kaemming) Reef. On December 30,
1961 he married Bonnie Walter in Sumner, Iowa and she preceded him in death on June 22, 2005.
Darrell was a lifelong farmer and worked over 25 years for Woodville Township as a maintenance worker.

His memberships included S.C.R.A.P., lifetime member of the Woodville Twp. Fire Department and former
advisor for 4-H Woodville Buckeyes.
In his spare time he enjoyed restoring tractors, spending time with his family and especially attending
his grandchildren’s activities.
Darrell served his country proudly while enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged
in 1962.
Surviving Darrell are his children: Kim Berfield of Woodville, Dean (Debi) Reef of Pemberville, Deb (Jim)
Hostottle of Gibsonburg; grandchildren: Josh, Ben, Derek, Jacob, Andrew, Tyler and Melissa;
great-grandchildren: Cali and Aubri; and special friend: Carol Ameling of Woodville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Bonnie and brother, Arnold Reef.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, March 6, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Marsh
Funeral Home, 201 W. Main Street, Woodville, OH, where funeral services will be conducted on Friday,
March 7, 2014 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Kristina Ahlman.
Interment will be in Westwood Cemetery, Woodville, OH.
