Walbridge discusses salt supply

WALBRIDGE – Salt was on the mind of village council Wednesday.
Council members voted at their regular meeting to approve a contract with the Ohio Department of
Transportation to participate in a cooperative purchasing agreement for rock salt used on roadways.
The matter passed unanimously as an emergency measure – meaning it would go into effect immediately –
because the contract needed to be submitted Thursday, said Village Administrator and Police Chief
Kenneth Frost.
In other matters, council President Ken Gilsdorf indicated a report he’d received of a gas leak beneath
the street across from the Lake Township Fire Department on North Main Street.
"It’s been like that for some time," said Frost, noting that Columbia Gas "has been
notified on several occasions."
"They don’t seem to think it’s an issue," he said. "They’ll get to it when they get to
it."
