MCCOMB – A Perrysburg man was taken to Wood County Hospital following a crash Tuesday in Hancock County,
northeast of the village.
The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office reports that Paul Richter, Perrysburg, was driving a 2000 Kenworth
tractor pulling a flatbed trailer hauling over 60,000 pounds of rolled steel on Ohio 613, near Township
Road 21, when the crash occurred.
Richter reportedly lost control of the vehicle and went off the right side of the roadway and into a
ditch.
The vehicle traveled about 25 yards through the ditch before rolling onto its side.
Richter, who was wearing his seat belt, was checked at the scene and then transported to the hospital by
McComb EMS for possible injuries.
Emergency Management personnel were called to the scene due to an amount of oil that spilled alongside
the roadway and into the dirt.
The crash remains under investigation.
