RISINGSUN – One man was injured in a two-vehicle crash Thursday near the Sandusky County line.
The Wood County Sheriff’s Office reports that Gerald Sams, Helena, was westbound on Girton Road in
Sandusky County when he pulled into the path of a tractor-trailer driven by Phillip Shirer, Zanesville.
Shirer was southbound on U.S. 23 in Wood County. The trailer of Shirer’s vehicle was struck by Sams.
Sams sustained non-incapacitating injuries and was taken to Fostoria Community Hospital by Bradner EMS.

He was cited for a stop sign violation.
