NORTHWOOD – A city woman who was struck by a vehicle while walking in the turn lane of
Woodville Road Monday has died.The Lucas County Coroner’s Office confirmed this morning that Rosella
Wells, 84, Northwood, died Tuesday at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, where she was taken after the
incident. The autopsy in the case is scheduled for today.The crash took place at 8:30 a.m., just west of
Royal Avenue.According to the crash report, at that time Nancy Lewis, Toledo, was driving eastbound on
Woodville Road when she attempted to move into the turn lane. As she entered the lane, she reportedly
struck Wells, who was walking in the turn lane.The report stated Wells appeared to be walking westbound
at the time.
