PERRYSBURG – Furry friends my find themselves barking up the right tree at Woofgang Dog
Daycare.The business, located at 23960 Dixie Highway, two miles south of Levis Commons, offers dog daycare,
boarding, socialization, and other services for the busy dog owner."Mark and I have always loved
dogs," said Elaine Karamol, who partners in the business with her husband. Elaine Karamol spent 25
years in the corporate world, and was permitted to bring her dogs to work with her over the years.
Eventually, she decided to leave the business world and go into business for herself.Woofgang features a
large, fenced-in outdoor play area for dogs with a playset and pea-gravel, which is easy on paws; a large
interior facility, cordoned off into sections so that similar groups of dogs may socialize together,
allowing the animals to play and be played and cared for by the business’ three-person staff."We
started, like a lot of small businesses, small," Mark Karamol said of the site, "but there’s room
to grow here." They plan on converting one room in their complex to a place for bathing and grooming,
and a doggie park is also in the offing."We like the area, Perrysburg, Perrysburg Township," he
said."And we’re easy access, in and off (State Route 25), which is nice," said his wife.Earlier
this month, the business was hosting more than 14 dogs, but Mark Karamol indicated that they have not yet
reached capacity.Since opening on Dec. 3, the business’s boarding options were popular with customers over
the holidays, and Elaine Karamol noted that "the people are also repeat customers for the
daycare."When there are animals being boarded at the facility, a staff member is there around the clock
to see to the animals.Woofgang will also be partnering with Toledo Dog Training to offer classes this month
and in February.Woofgang’s hours are Monday through Saturday, 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 6
