Man charged for kicking ice sculpture

A man was charged with criminal mischief this weekend after he was observed damaging an ice sculpture
created for the city’s Winterfest.
Bowling Green Police Chief Brad Conner said this morning that just after 11 p.m. on Saturday Chad
Clements, 20, with a campus address, was seen kicking an ice sculpture in the 100 block of North Main
Street. The sculpture was created for the Melt Shoppe Gastropub, 145 N. Main St.
Conner said part of the sculpture landed in the street, causing a road hazard.
Clements reportedly admitted to kicking the piece.
Conner said the sculpture was located in an area away from most of the other sculptures created for the
event.
"We had extra officers out that were contracted with for Winterfest to actually watch the ice
sculptures, but this was on the north end of town," and the officers were largely on the south end
of Main Street, he said.
