Roll-over crash on Kellogg Road
TONTOGANY – One man was taken to Wood County Hospital following a Wednesday crash just west of the
village.
The Wood County Sheriff’s Office reports that at 10:10 p.m. Matthew Steck, Delta, was westbound on
Kellogg Road when he indicated he drove over a patch of ice and lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle
then rolled over once, and came to rest on all four tires.
Steck reported possible injuries and was taken to the hospital by Northwest 190 EMS.
He was cited for reasonable control.
Washington Twp. zoning meets
TONTOGANY – The Washington Township Zoning Commission will hold a board meeting on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
in the Washington Township Fire Hall in Tontogany.
Fighter Wing has new commander
Col. Craig R. Baker will take command of the 180th Fighter Wing from Col. Steven S. Nordhaus during a 10
a.m. ceremony on Sunday at the 180th Fighter Wing, located at the Toledo Air National Guard Base.
Baker is a U.S. Military Academy at West Point graduate and an active duty Air Force command pilot with
more than 2,500 flight hours. In his previous position as the 57th Wing vice commander, at Nellis Air
Force Base, Nev., Baker was responsible for 39 squadrons at 12 installations.
Baker replaces Nordhaus, who was recently promoted to the position of executive assistant for Gen. Frank
Grass, chief, National Guard Bureau, in Washington D.C.
