Resurfacing starts on I-475
The Ohio Department of Transportation District Two has announced the Interstate 475 resurfacing in both
Lucas and Wood counties has begun and will run through October.
From 7 p.m. until 6 a.m., lane restrictions are possible on I-475 from Ohio 25 to U.S. 20A for
resurfacing.
Grant funds increased patrols
The Wood County Sheriff’s Office will conduct increased patrols through Sunday, due to grant funding form
the Ohio Traffic Safety Office.
Deputies will be looking for violations such as driving under the influence, failure to yield and
speeding.
Pemberville man hurt in crash
A Pemberville man was transported to the hospital following an accident Wednesday morning near the Ohio
Turnpike on Ohio 420.
According to the Ohio State Patrol, Bradley Ingram, 48, was transported by Lake Township EMS to St.
Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, for incapacitating injuries.
The crash report indicates Ingram was riding a motorcycle southbound on Route 420 in the right hand lane.

A car operated by Timothy Smith, 49, of Menasha, Wisconsin, was also southbound in the inside lane when
he made an illegal right hand turn at Libbey Road into the path of the motorcycle.
Ingram struck Smith’s car. Smith was not injured. He was cited for failure to follow rules for turns.

Information on food pantry times was wrong
The Bowling Green Christian Food Pantry opened on at its new location Wednesday.
Those being served can fully shop once every three months at the pantry. An incorrect interval was
published on Thursday.
Flubber fun for families
Families are invited to join Amanda Gamby from the Wood County Solid Waste Management District for some
Flubber making fun on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Children’s Place at the Wood County District Public
Library.
