N.B. Council meets tonight
NORTH BALTIMORE - North Baltimore Council will meet tonight at 7:30 p.m. in council chambers.

Health board cancels meeting
A meeting of the Wood County Board of Health scheduled for tonight has been canceled. The board will instead meet at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 16.

Perry Township meets Saturday
The Perry Township opening meeting for 2014 will be held on Saturday at 9 a.m.

Webster Twp. plans meeting
Webster Township Trustees will meet Monday at 7:30 p.m. for its reorganizational meeting and regular meeting.

Haskins seeks council member
HASKINS - Haskins Village has a vacant council seat, interested residents of one year or more please submit a letter of interest to the clerk.

Mock Caldecott election Sunday
Teachers, book enthusiasts, parents, and readers of all ages are invited to participate in a 2014 Mock Caldecott Election on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Wood County District Public Library meeting room.
The Caldecott Medal is awarded annually by the Association for Library Service to Children, a division of the American Library Association, to the artist of the most distinguished American picture book for children.
At the Wood County District Public Library's Mock Election, everyone will take a close look at some carefully selected, beautifully illustrated picture books from the past year, then help select a "most distinguished" picture book. Kathy East, retired children's librarian, will share her experiences serving on the Caldecott committee in 1987 and chairing it in 2004.
For the full mock election, with final results, the Children's Place suggests staying until about 4 p.m.
