At least two groups will be collecting items during Saturday’s Bowling Green Holiday Parade.•
Conneaut Pack 422 will collect toys to be donated to The Dear Santa Society (which aids families of students
enrolled in the Bowling Green School District) and the Christmas Dreams program (which aids families
throughout Wood County, sponsored by Thayer Ford in Bowling Green).Toys are needed for both boys and girls.
Toys do not need to be wrapped but should be in their original packaging. Look for the Cub Scout elves from
Conneaut Pack 422 near the end of the parade on a float called Operation: Santa’s Toy Box as they will be
walking along the sidewalks and collecting your generous donations.• For the third year the Aktion Club, an
organization sponsored by the Bowling Green Kiwanis Club for developmentally disabled adults, will be
collecting food.Club members will be walking alongside a blue pickup truck with signs including the Aktion
Club logo.Any non-perishable food item will be accepted for the local food pantry.The hope is to fill the
truck by the end of the parade route.
