Densic to try for seat on Rossford Council

ROSSFORD – Robert Densic will apply to fill the vacant council seat caused by the death of Chuck
Duricek on Thanksgiving.A sharply divided council Monday said it would seek applicants to fill the seat
instead of appointing the losing candidate with the highest vote total from the November election. That
would be Densic.Duricek won a third term in that election, garnering the highest vote total in a six-way
race for four seats. Also winning election were Dan Wagner, Caroline Eckel and Jerry Staczek.City
Administrator Ed Ciecka said as of Friday no applications have been submitted to Clerk of Council Robert
Watrol. On Monday Densic would not comment on whether he would run. He said later that he had come to the
meeting intending to praise Duricek, and the issue of applying to the vacancy "caught me off
guard."Duricek’s widow, Pam Duricek, has said she believes Densic should fill the seat.City Council
will take up the matter Monday at 7 p.m.
