Retired teachers set luncheonThe Wood County Retired Teachers will hold their holiday luncheon on
Dec. 12 at First United Methodist Church in Bowling Green. Registration begins at noon.The program will
feature Michael Puppos, pastoral associate for music and liturgy at Blessed John XXIII Catholic Church,
Perrysburg. He will lead members in a group sing-along of Christmas music.Chef Mike Zaborniak will prepare
the Christmas lunch of chicken cordon bleu and the Otsego High School National Honor Society students will
be servers.As usual, members should bring food items for the food pantry and a donation for the scholarship
basket.Registration for the Dec. 12 event starts at 11:30 with lunch at noon.BG food giveaway FridayThe
monthly government food giveaway in Bowling Green will be Friday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at First United
Methodist Church, 1526 E. Wooster St.BG Kiwanis to hear NemethDana Nemeth, the director of the Wood County
Historical Center and Museum, is the guest speaker at the Bowling Green Kiwanis Club meeting at noon on
Thursday, December 12, at Stone Ridge Golf Club.McAvoy in BG TuesdayJohn McAvoy, State Coordinator for the
Workplace Freedom Amendment, will provide a 45-minute presentation that looks into the heritage of labor
unions and the historical impact they’ve had on the workplace, Ohio’s economy, past, present, and future,
and what Workplace Freedom will and will not do.The program is open to all and will be held Tuesday at 11:30
a.m. at Stimmels Market on West Wooster Street.Magee Marsh sets open houseOAK HARBOR – Magee Marsh Wildlife
Area and the Sportsmen’s Migratory Bird Center will hold a holiday open house Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.
Magee Marsh is located on Ohio 2 in Ottawa County.Ottawa refuge event SundayVisit Ottawa National Wildlife
Refuge’s visitor center between noon and 4 p.m. Sunday, for the annual Holiday Open House.A partnership
between Magee Marsh Wildlife Area, Black Swamp Bird Observatory and Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge, the
event encourages visitors to stop by all three places to get a stamp to be entered in a drawing for one of
three baskets full of goodies.ONWR is hosting family nature craft demonstrations and guided bus trips.
