Owens to host prom dress drive for high school studentsOwens Community College students are
hosting their third annual Prom Dress Drive for area high school students, beginning Monday.The drive,
which extends through March 29, is being coordinated by the college’s Raising Awareness Club. Owens
students will accept gently used prom-specific items, including dresses, shoes, purses, gloves and
jewelry, among other prom accessories.The aim of the event is to ensure that all high school girls are
able to attend their high school prom, even if their families have limited finances. Area residents can
help make the drive a success by donating apparel.Following the dress drive, a Prom Dress Extravaganza
for high school students and their families will be held April 6 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the college’s
Student Health and Activities Center.During the event, attendees will be able to purchase prom dresses
and accessories for minimal cost ranging from $5 to $20 for dresses and 50 cents to $5 for accessories.
Mentors will be on hand to assist shoppers and Owens students will provide prom dress alterations free
of charge.All prom donations can be dropped off in room 165 at the SHAC on the Oregon Road campus. For

is the final day of Restaurant Week Toledo 2013, which features special $10, $20 or $30 lunch and dinner
menus from local-only restaurants.Due to the event’s popularity, reservations are
