Fashion Food and Fine Art Luncheon to fund season’s downtown flowers

0

Each year the Downtown Bowling Green organization and a corps of dedicated volunteers beautify the
downtown with 700 flowering plants.
This year, the proceeds from the annual Fashion Food & Fine Art Luncheon, to be held April 26 at
Sam B’s during Art Walk, will help fund that work.
There are luncheon seatings at 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
Ten downtown businesses are providing fashions for the show, and guests at the luncheon will receive
table favors and door prizes donated by more than two dozen local businesses and community members.
Spring fashions in clothing and accessories will be modeled informally in the Sam B’s dining room,
surrounded by the PRIZM Creative Community Art Exhibit.
Tickets are $20 and available at downtown businesses including BG Hats & Apparel, Coyote Beads
& Jewelry, Grounds for Thought and Jamie’s Seams to Fit. Downtown Bowling Green also has tickets
at its office at 121 E. Wooster St. and online at downtownbgohio.org.
Attendees may choose from a menu of roast beef, chicken salad, or vegetarian lasagna and each entree
comes with iced tea and a slice of Sam B’s cheesecake.
The annual Art Walk event is presented by Downtown Bowling Green and the Bowling Green Arts Council.
Art Walk features a combination of visual and performing arts housed in businesses throughout the
district.
Visitors to the event are invited to vote in the People’s Choice Awards, which will be made at an
after-party at Grounds for Thought.
New features for this year, the 22nd year of the event, include a quilt exhibit hosted by the Busy
Thimble and featuring the Black Swamp Quilters Guild, and the addition of juried art awards.
