2013 record: 14-13 overall, 4-10 in the NLL.

Juniors – Mitch Cromley, pitcher; and Mason Apple, infielder.
Coach’s comment: "We lost a lot of talent on the mound last year, but this year’s pitching staff is
deeper. We can go four or five strong. The keys to our season are strong pitching and strong defense.
Our goal is to get better everyday, win the NLL and make some noise in the state playoffs."
PERRYSBURG
Coach: Dave Hall, 29th season.
2013 record: 27-4 overall, 13-1 in the NLL (first).
Returning lettermen: Seniors – A.J. Stockwell, infielder/pitcher; Nick Fleming, infielder; Mark Delas,
pitcher, catcher, infielder; Bobby Borger, outfielder, pitcher; Isaac Johnson, infielder’ and Steven

EASTWOOD
Coach: Kevin Leady, third season.
2013 record: 17-8 overall, 9-4 in the NBC (tied for second).
Returning lettermen: Seniors – Jake Schmeltz, infielder, outfielder, pitcher; Matt Drown, outfielder,
infielder pitcher; Ryan Mang, infielder; and Grant Peters, pitcher, outfielder. Juniors – David
Krukemyer, infielder, catcher.
Coach’s comment: "Our team goal is to compete for an NBC title. We, as a program, aspire to make a
deep run into the tournament year in and year out. The season will be determined on how the seniors lead
the underclassman. Our seniors and upperclassman work really well at trying to prepare the younger
players for the season. To be a successful program, we have to develop depth on the mound. We have a few
younger guys who are showing great things early on and we are very excited to see what they can
accomplish throughout the season."
ELMWOOD
Coach: Kyle Reiser, 27th season.
2013 record: 12-14 overall, 6-8 in the NBC.
Returning lettermen: Seniors- Jacob Wise, outfielder; Nolan Kerr, pitcher; Jacob Firsdon, catcher; and
Michael Langlass, pitcher. Sophomores – Phillip Buckingham, pitcher; and Dylan Hall, infielder.
Coach’s comment: "We have a small core of players returning who will be counted upon to lead a young
and inexperienced group."
LAKE
Coach: Greg Wilker, 30th season.
2013 record: 15-10 overall, 9-4 in the NBC (tied for second).
Returning lettermen: Seniors – Jayce Vancena, pitcher, infielder; Brad Ackerman, pitcher/outfielder; Cody
Witt, infielder, pitcher; Nick Walsh, catcher; Anthony Pratt, infielder, outfielder; and and Joel
Densic, infielder. Juniors – Connor Bowen, shortstop, pitcher; Todd Walters, pitcher, outfielder,
infielder. Sophomores – Adam Duncan, outfielder.
Coach’s comment: "We had several players gain some valuable experience last year. We expect to be
very competitive this year because of this experience and the continued improvement we expect to see
every year."
OTSEGO
Coach: Chase Welker, second season.
2013 record: 17-7 overall, 14-0 in the NBC (first).
Returning lettermen: Seniors – Deven Vollmar, infielder, pitcher; C.J. Selders, outfielder, infielder,
pitcher; Max Miller, infielder, pitcher; Austin Cox, catcher, designed hitter; and Zac Gregory,
infielder/outfielder.
Coach’s comment: "Our goal is to be competitive in every game we play. The keys to our success will
be good pitching and solid defense. We look forward to the challenge of defending our league
title."
ROSSFORD
Coach: Alan Barnum, third season.
2013 record: 6-21 overall, 3-11 in the NBC (sixth).
Returning lettermen: Seniors – Noah Asmus, infielder, pitcher; Ryan Reed, catcher; Trey Demko, infielder;
Tyler Fargo, pitcher, utility; and AJ Santellana, infielder, outfielder. Juniors – Marty Linthicum,
utility, pitcher; Nick Skiba, pitcher, infielder; and Ryan Niese, pitcher, infielder. Sophomores – Erik
Davis, catcher, pitcher; and Ben Sauter, pitcher, outfielder.
Coach’s comment: "How successful we are depends on how confident we play. We have been young the
last couple of years and we have played somewhat timid. We will be a little more experienced this year
and we are hopeful that experience helps. We have a couple of really talented ball players in Noah Asmus
and Ryan Reed. Reed was the offensive player of the year last year for the NBC and hopes to repeat.
Asmus is going to be our table setter on offense, we’ll go when he goes. Our entire pitching staff is
returning, as well. That is something we are hoping becomes a strength for us."
MIDLAND ATHLETIC LEAGUE
LAKOTA
Coach: Terry James, third season.
2013 record: 6-14 overall, 3-7 in the MAL (eighth).
Returning lettermen: Seniors – Jack Raymond, infielder; Kyle Below, outfielder; and Jacob Aaron, catcher,
utility. Juniors – Austin Payne, infielder; Jordan Jaso, infielder; Nick Watts, infielder/pitcher; Casey
Monroe, outfielder, pitcher. Sophomores – Dakota Gilbert, catcher.
Coach’s comment: "We are still about a year away. We can compete with anyone on our schedule, and
with Nick Watts pitching we can stay in games. With only three seniors, we will need our juniors,
sophomores and even a few freshman step up and contribute early. We need to work on our defense which
held us back all year in 2013. Defense is the key to our season."
NORTH BALTIMORE
Coach: Marty Gazarek, fourth season.
2013 record: 17-10 overall, 9-1 in the MAL (first).
Returning lettermen: Seniors – Jacob Frost, infielder, pitcher; Zach Stewart, infielder, pitcher; Chase
Nichols, catcher/; Garrett Boyer, designated hitter; and Tyler Trumbull, infielder, designated hitter.
Juniors – Brock Boyer, infielder, pitcher; and Levi Newcomer, outfielder, pitcher. Sophomores – Sean
Watson, pitcher, infielder; Brody Naugle, pitcher; and Andrew Hollinger, pitcher, outfielder.
Coach’s comment: "The MAL will be solid conference again this season. We have to bring great energy
and focus day in and day out to get to the top of our league."
TOLEDO AREA ATHLETIC CONFERENCE
NORTHWOOD
Coach: John Segura, first season.
2013 record: 19-11 overall; 8-4 in the TAAC (third).
Returning lettermen: Seniors – Adam Wilson, infielder, designated hitter; and Jacob Davenport, infielder,
catcher, pitcher. Juniors – Myles Habel, catcher, pitcher, designated hitter; Jack Romstadt, infielder,
pitcher; and Steven Sutton, utility.
Coach’s comment: "We have set our goals high and, as always, we expect to be in the mix for the TAAC
title and making a run in the playoffs. To get there, we need to have our pitchers throw strikes, make
plays in the field and hit the ball. We are working hard to achieve our goals."
