Prep Roundup: Rossford girls end Genoa’s title hopes (02-07-14)

Three players scored in double figures as Rossford beat Genoa, 62-61, knocking the Comets out of Northern
Buckeye Conference title contention.
Elmwood’s girls clinched the conference title with a 53-41 win over Eastwood, coupled with the Genoa
loss.
In other girls games it was: Perrysburg 64, Springfield 36; Elmwood 53, Eastwood 41; Lake 46, Otsego 36;
Carey 78, North Baltimore 41; and Danbury 51, Northwood.

Rossford 62, Genoa 61
In Rossford, Julie Hotz scored 15 points, Cheyenne Davis had 14 and Regan Davis notched 10 for the
Bulldogs.
Rossford is 13-6 overall and 9-4 in the NBC. Genoa is 14-6, 8-4.
Lake 46, Otsego 36
In Tontogany, Lake hit 13-of-15 free throws en route to an NBC victory.
Lake’s Catie Phalen scored 16 points, and Jordyn Taylor registered 10 points.
Lake is 9-9, 7-4.
Otsego’s Mackenzie Wenig scored 10 points. The Knights are 8-10, 6-5.
Carey 78, North Baltimore 41
In North Baltimore, Olivia Frost scored 21 points for the Tigers (7-12, 2-7) in a Midland Athletic League
game.
Kiah Powell added 11 points and six rebounds.
Danbury 51, Northwood 44
In Northwood, Doma Cruz scored 14 points and Allison Roach added 13 in a Toledo Area Athletic Conference
loss.
Northwood is 3-14, 3-7.

Bowling Green defeated Springfield 32-23. Holly Roe scored 14 points for BG.
BOYS
Elmwood beat Fostoria 35-19. Leaders for Elmwood were Clay Stearns, Jonah Childress and Justin McKenzie.

Woodmore beat Lake 46-45. Top scorers for Lake were Dylan O’Quinn with 18 points and Blake Osborn with 17
points.
Eastwood defeated Otsego 39-24. Eastwood’s leaders were Alec Graber, Cory Coffman and Dalton Andrews.
