Noah Asmus and Spencer Shultz combined on a four-hitter to lead Rossford’s baseball team to a 4-1 win
Saturday over Swanton and a split of the nonconference doubleheader.
Swanton was a 6-0 winner in Game 1.
In the second game, Rossford scored three times in the second inning to open a 3-0 lead.
Shultz was 2-for-3, while Asmus hit a two-run single in the second inning.
In the first game, Rossford’s Erik Davis was 2-for-2 and Asmus doubled.
Rossford is 4-4 overall.
Elmwood 4, Northwood 2
In Northwood, Trevor Solether pitched a four-hitter and Elmwood built a 3-0 lead over the first 3
innings.
Elmwood’s Jacob Wise was 2-for-3.
Lakota 4, Old Fort 3
In Kansas, Lakota scored a run in the bottom of the seventh for its win.
Dakota Gilbert had the game-winning RBI, knocking in Jacob Aaron. Old Fort had tied the game by scoring
three times in the top of the seventh.
Lakota’s leading hitters were: Aaron, 2-for-4, two runs, RBI; Jack Raymond, 2-for-3; Nick Watts, 2-for-4,
RBI; and Gilbert, 3-for-4, double, run, RBI.
Watts was the winning pitcher on a five-hitter. He struck out 10 and walked five. Only one of OF’s runs
was unearned.
SOFTBALL
Elmwood 19,
North Ridgeville 6
Elmwood scored twice in the third and 13 times in the fourth to pull away from a 4-4 tie.
Elmwood’s leading hitters were: Miranda Benschoter, 1-for-3, two runs, three RBI; Olivia Myers 3-for-4,
home run, three runs, four RBI; Madison Arnold, 3-for-3, double, triple; home run, four runs, four RBI;
and Lindsay George, 2-for-2, run, five RBI.
Eastwood wins two
In Luckey, Eastwood improved to 9-0 with a double header sweep of Liberty-Benton.
Eastwood scored 10 runs in the second inning on the way to a 13-1 five-inning win in the opener.
Cassidy Rolf was 3-for-3 for the Eagles while Krista Jennings, Morgan Getz and Mackenzie Albright each
had two hits. Albright had a double and three RBI while Getz and Marissa Tudro each doubled.
In the second game, Eastwood scored four times in the first inning in a 7-3 win.
Jennings had two hits for Eastwood.
