Jeremy Chambers’ second goal of the game goal broke a 2-2 tie with 5:56 remaining Friday and Bowling Green held on for a 4-2 win over Findlay in a Northwest Hockey Conference Red Division game at The Cube.
Chambers gave BG the lead after Findlay scored twice in the second period to tie the game.
Aaron Crawford’s empty-net goal with 1:08 left clinched BG’s fifth straight victory.
The Bobcats are 15-9-1 overall and 4-3 in the NHC. They can clinch no worse than a tie for second in the division with a win tonight at Northview.
Findlay is 14-12, 1-5-1.
“Findlay is always a hard place for us to play, so we’re happy to get a win,” BG coach Dan DeWitt said. “Can we play better? Yes. We controlled the first period and then we let them back in the game, but our kids responded well in the third period.
“We’re playing with confidence and we found a way to win again tonight.”
Phillip Rich had BG’s other goal, and Tanner Fausnaugh stopped 19 shots. The Bobcats out-shot Findlay, 34-21.
