Lake Twp. accidents injure 5

Five people, including four juveniles, were taken to St. Charles Hospital, Oregon, following two
accidents in Lake Township over the weekend.
The Ohio Highway patrol reported that at 4:39 p.m. Friday, on Interstate 280 south of Mile Post 2, John
Garner, Warrensville Heights, driving a 2008 Volkswagen Jetta, was northbound when he lost control and
struck a guardrail twice.
His passenger, Erica Clark, 17, Warrensville Heights, was taken to the hospital by Lake Township EMS with
possible injuries.
Garner was cited for failure to control.
Sunday at 4:45 p.m., on Ohio 51 east of Mile Post 1, Christina Mendoza, Oregon, driving a 2000 Dodge
Dakota, was stopped waiting to complete a left turn when she was struck in the rear by Alyssa Hensley,
17, Genoa, driving a 1997 Chevy Lumina.
Hensley was taken to the hospital by Lake Township with possible injuries. Mendoza’s passengers, Susan
Jones, 44, Toledo, Gabriel Rison, 10, Oregon, and Brandon Devalt, 10, Oregon, were taken to the hospital
by Lake Township with non-incapacitating injuries.
Hensley was cited for assured clear distance ahead.
