Penta embraces AC4P

PERRYSBURG – Penta Career Center board members got a look at the good deeds being promoted at the school.

At this month’s board meeting, students Ashley Gaona and Jessica Walters promoted the school’s Active
Caring for People initiative (AC4P), which encourages students to actively care and perform intentional
acts of kindness as part of their daily routine.
The duo passed out green rubber wrist bands to everyone in attendance, encouraging them to "pay it
forward" by passing on the wristband when he or she observes someone else performing an act of
kindness.
The program was developed at Virginia Tech in the aftermath 2007 campus shooting.
"It’s the purest form of prevention I’ve ever seen," said Linda Logue, prevention specialist
from the Wood County Educational Service Center.
The board also heard an update from FFA members Sarah Bostic and Samantha Warren about their experiences
at the national convention; and elected William Green as president.
