Rossford SOS Club sponsors supply drive for U.S. troops
ROSSFORD The Rossford High School SOS (Serving Our Soldiers) Club is sponsoring a supply drive through
April 11.
Items may be dropped off in the Rossford High School office located at 701 Superior St.
Care package supplies will be sent to U.S. troops deployed troops overseas.
Items in need include peanut butter, socks, toiletries, sunscreen, sunglasses, granola bars, magazines,
bandanas, beef jerky, deodorant, shampoo, chap stick, batteries, flashlights, books, hair ties,
mouthwash, baby powder, stress balls, bobby pins cologne/perfume, floss, wet wipes, gum and
sunflower/pumpkin seeds.
Perrysburg teachers’ union honors former educators
PERRYSBURG – Perrysburg Education Association will honor all educators at its annual Teacher Recognition
Banquet at the Hilton Garden Inn Levis Commons on May 6.
Retired Perrysburg teachers are encouraged to attend. Doors open at 6 p.m. and dinner will be served at
6:30 p.m.
A Perrysburg High School student group will provide entertainment. Tickets are $23 per person, and there
will be a cash bar. The meal will be chicken with Madeira garlic demi sauce, garlic mashed potatoes, and
seasonal vegetable medley.

Local students inducted into Central Catholic honor society
TOLEDO – Sixty-three Central Catholic High School students were inducted into the National Honor Society
at a ceremony on March 27. To be invited for membership, students must have a 3.5 or higher grade point
average for three semesters.
Members must have participated in a minimum of one CCHS sport, organization, or club. Eligible students
submit an application, two teacher recommendations, and a 250-word essay describing how they plan to
contribute to the National Honor Society.
Wood County students attending CCHS and being inducted include Jake Chmelovski, Bowling Green; Alex Matus
and Lyndsey Matus, Millbury; Taylor Osting, Northwood; and Madison Cano, Aaron Dood and Byrdy Galernik,
of Perrysburg.
Ohio Connections Academy holds session on e-classes
Representatives from Ohio Connections Academy (OCA), an e-school serving students in grades K-12 from
across Ohio, will host an information session for interested parents and students on Tuesday in Toledo.
OCA delivers a personalized virtual public school education that combines state-certified teachers, a
print-rich curriculum, technology tools and community experiences.
The information session is designed to educate prospective parents and students about the virtual public
school as well as answer questions about how the program works, the benefits to students, and how to
enroll.
The event will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Fairfield Inn and Suites Toledo North, 5685 Benore Road,
Toledo.
