PEMBERVILLE – The April 2 auxiliary meeting was opened by President Gwen Schroeder-Zulch.
Thank you’s were read from the Marie Moor fund for a donation that was given in me more of Cynthia Witte,
from Peg Hebler of the Quilitng Eagles for a donation to them. A flier from Adams Township Unit 553
endorsing Bonnie Gardiner, candidate for First District president for the department auxiliary, was also
read.
The unit has reached their membership goal of 220 paid members for the year.
The summer convention is June 7 in Wauseon.
Poppy Day will be May 17. Carolyn Borcherding is in charge this year. Anyone interested in helping that
day come to the legion hall by 9:30 that morning. The Ohio Department Convention of the legion and
auxiliary will be in Cincinnati July 12-14. Those interested in going should contact Schroeder-Zulch for
reservations.
What shape is your flag in? After all the wind and weather this last winter, do you need to replace your
flag? The unit will be placing an order in time for Memorial Day, so those in need of a replacement,
call the legion hall office and leave a message.
The legion men will also properly dispose of old flags for those who bring them to the legion hall.
Election of officers will be in May. Those interested in taking an office should contact Schroeder-Zulch.
Plans for the fall fair are starting to develop.
