A new shoe shop in Bowling Green is stepping out in style
Valencia’s Shoes opened in April at 175 N. Main St. and has seen pretty good business, according to owner
Andrea Wagner.
"It’s been pretty good. Some days are busier than others," Wagner said.
This is her first physical location for her store. Previously she offered the business online from her
home in Putnam County.
She offers a seasonal selection, which now includes sandals, heels, wedges and boots for women. She also
has a small selection of little girls shoes.
"A little bit of everything," she said in describing her inventory. "We carry a little bit
of something for everyone."
She will offer flip flops all year in a nod to the college community.
In the fall, she hopes to add men’s and boy’s footwear.
"We offer unique boutique-style footwear but at an affordable price," Wagner explained.
She said she has done a lot of research to know when to buy low and sell low.
"Reasonably priced, good quality is something we strive for."
She enjoys her downtown location, having picked Bowling Green over several other area communities.
"Bowling Green still has a really vibrant shopping community downtown," Wagner stated.
"The community itself has a diverse demographic."
The other businesses in town have been very supportive as well.
"You really couldn’t ask for anything more."
Summer hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays, and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
