To the Editor:
I really don't know where or how to start this letter. We are so blessed and thankful for the outpouring of generosity from our friends in the Bowling Green post office areas. I am rarely at a loss for words, but as the food kept pouring in on May 13 for the "Stamp Out Hunger" food drive, I can only say THANK YOU for helping our local food pantries fill their shelves to the max.
I have learned that not only did BG Christian Food Pantry receive a record amount of food, other area pantries did as well.
God gave us perfect weather and good volunteers to help sort and shelve over 10,000 pounds of food. A big thank you to NWCCC for sending us seven wonderful guys, as well as Joel, Bill, Jeremy, Ryan and Bill's family on Sunday. We appreciate all the hard work and long hours you put in on Saturday. Also thanks to Kathy for picking up donations.
Postal carriers worked extra hard bringing in the food. They had a smile with every truckload they brought. Thanks to Deb for going the extra mile in helping.
