To the Editor:

I was very disappointed by the article, “Trump’s visit complicated Lake Twp. search,” by Debbie Rogers in the Jan. 31 edition.

This certainly should have never been printed, let alone given front page status. It only shows hatred and bias toward the president. The article is full of lies and contradictions. For example, they would have used a drone, but drones, helicopters and airplanes were grounded because the president was speaking in Toledo.

Later in the article she wrote that CSX transportation was able to deploy their drone. This 11-year-old boy was found a few hours after he was reported missing.

I am absolutely amazed that within those few hours, 50 people assisted in the search, the highway patrol and sheriff departments offered help, Mercy Health offered to send an air ambulance, but it was grounded because of the president.

My understanding is that they do not form search parties until after 24 hours.

Do you really think they should open air space and jeopardize the lives and safety of the president, the crew, people of the press and other government officials traveling with him, to look for a runaway 11-year-old?

The president was in Toledo on Jan. 9 and the article was published Jan. 31. Why did you wait so long to publish this hate and bias filled article? It certainly is not a news article, it is merely the opinion of someone whose hate you perpetuated.

Someone should have done some fact checking, just as they should on your other political articles. Opinions should be on the opinion page, not on the front page.
