Wood County sees 30.87% turnout for general election

Another busy election season drew to a close Tuesday with the casting of ballots in the 2017 general election. Turnout in Wood County outpaced the state’s, with the Wood County Board of Election reporting, unofficially, that 30.87 percent of the 94,320 registered voters cast ballots. Statewide, the Ohio Secretary of State’s Office showed a 29.86 percent turnout.

The election results are unofficial until certified in the weeks following the election. By state law, outstanding provisionals and absentees are not tabulated before the 10th day following the election.
