WAYNE — A serious injury crash occurred Saturday in Wood County and both drivers were taken by air ambulance to Toledo hospitals.
At 2:09 p.m. Roxanne Coots, 64, Toledo, and Sabrina Langlass, 25, Rudolph, crashed on Ohio 199 and Ohio 281, according to a Wood County Sheriff’s Office report.
Coots was taken to Mercy Health-St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, by air ambulance. Langlass was taken to Wood County Hospital by Wayne Fire Department and then transported by air ambulance to ProMedica.
According to the sheriff’s office report, Coots was westbound on Route 182 and failed to yield the right of way at the stop sign to Langlass, driving a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu, who was southbound on Route 199.
Langlass struck Coots in the right front, pushing her 2006 Buick LaCrosse into the southwest corner of the intersection and into a utility pole.
Both drivers were extricated from their vehicles by non-mechanical means. According to the report, neither woman was wearing a seatbelt.
