The Bowling Green skating community is once again partnering up with Scott Hamilton’s Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer team to host a peer-to-peer fundraising event and celebration.

This year will include a Frozen 5K Skate on Feb. 8 and a Celebration Ice Show and Reception on April 18. An information session for participants with a Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer staff member will be held Feb. 8 at 1 p.m. in the Ice Arena lounge.

For Feb. 8

1 p.m. Participant informational session

For skaters interested in participating in the Frozen 5K Skate, Ice Show and attending the post-show reception with Scott Hamilton. Registered participants get the opportunity to skate in the April 18 Ice Show at varying levels. Attend this informational session to learn more and/or receive help registering as a participant.

2 p.m. Frozen 5K Skate

All skaters welcome. Skate a Frozen 5K in honor of a loved one with family and friends. Admission included for participants registered with Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer. All admission proceeds go to the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation.

Walk-up admission also encouraged and available the day of the Frozen 5K Skate for those who wish to participate in the Frozen 5K Skate but are not registered.

Admission prices are $10 for the general public, $5 for BGSU students with ID, and $3 for skate rental.

2:30 p.m. Sponsor informational session

For any individuals, groups, or businesses interested in learning more about how they can help support the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation and directly impact the celebration events hosted in Bowling Green. Attend this session to learn more about sponsorship opportunities.

For April 18

5-6:30 p.m. Celebration Ice Show

Join the on-ice celebration hosted by the Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer Bowling Green host committee, local figure skating clubs and skaters from the area. Registered participants perform in group numbers the will be prepared during Ice Arena Winter II programming, in addition to earning the opportunity to perform a solo. Experience an evening of entertaining skating presented by emcee Scott Hamilton and guest skaters. All performances will be dedicated in honor of those affected by cancer.
