RUDOLPH — A village man reportedly shot and killed a dog after it attacked him Wednesday.
The Wood County Sheriff's Office and Wood County Dog Warden were called to the property, in the 9000 block of Rudolph Road, just before 11 a.m.
According to Chief Dog Warden Andrew Snyder, there were reportedly two dogs loose from an adjacent property at the time. Snyder said he was told that one of the dogs attacked the man on his property, and he subsequently shot and killed the dog.
Details as to the breed of the dog, whether the man sustained any injuries and whether he had the gun on him at the time were not immediately available.
Snyder said the matter is still under investigation.
"The one thing that we need to determine is, are the dogs licensed and were they running at-large at the time that this happened," he said.
