ROSSFORD -- Not only has Rossford hosted the Ohio Humanities Chautauqua ensemble twice, the site will have an active role in the future of the performances. Jeremy Meier, a professor in the theater department at Owens Community College, has been tapped as the instructor for the new Chautauqua training program at the college, which also received an Ohio Humanities grant for the program.

Meier has been working with all the scholars who will put forth their programs this week during Riverfest in Rossford. There are five adult scholars portraying historical figures from the late 19th century into the early 20th century. There are also three high school students who will do their own shorter versions featuring local history.
