A Bowling Green man has been charged after reportedly striking a couple with his vehicle, seriously injuring a woman, then leaving the scene.
Elijah Moses, 20, was charged with failure to stop after an accident, according to the Bowling Green Police Division. Additional charges are pending, according to a press release.
On Sept. 6 at 3 a.m., officers responded to the area of 706 Napoleon Road, regarding two pedestrians who were struck by a vehicle and the vehicle had left the scene. Shawn Ragland, Bowling Green, said that an eastbound vehicle hit him and a woman and didn’t stop.
Talyor Martinek, Sylvania, was transported to Mercy Health-St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, for a head injury.
Officers were advised that the suspect vehicle was white.
On Wednesday, the BGPD received a call from a local body shop regarding a vehicle that was brought into the facility. The employee believed that vehicle could possibly be the vehicle that was involved in the hit-skip crash.
Officers arrived on scene and with the assistance of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation processed the vehicle.
Detectives were able to identify the local driver of the vehicle, who admitted to being involved in the crash.
