Eastwood Homecoming 2019

PEMBERVILLE – Eastwood High School crowned Jamie Schmeltz and Montgomery Kramer as fall homecoming queen and king at a ceremony Friday.

Schmeltz is the daughter of James and Tammy Schmeltz. She is a member of the varsity basketball and track teams as well as student council, People Inc. and One Step Ahead.

After high school, she plans to attend college and major in education and continue playing basketball.

Kramer is the son of Eric and Kaylene Kramer. He is a member of the varsity soccer and track and field teams as well as student council, FFA, Key Club and chess club.

He plans to attend the University of Cincinnati and major in civil engineering.

Also on the court were seniors Rory Farmer, Josh Hahn, Marisa Sieberg and Christian Peters; juniors Melinda Barman and Zach Sechkar; sophomores Addie Young and Jakob Jared; and freshmen Jessyca Smith and Vincent Schwartz.

Farmer is the daughter of Renee and Phil Farmer. She is a member of the varsity soccer and basketball as is an active member of student council, National Honor Society, FFA and senior executive council.

She plans to attend Bowling Green State University to major in early childhood education or business.

Hahn is the son of Jeff and Brooke Hahn. He is a captain on the varsity golf team and a member of the varsity bowling team. He also is president of National Honor Society and vice president of student council, and member of the Key Club, FFA, Portage Valley 4-H Club and Zion Lutheran Church.

He works at Belmont Country Club and after graduation plans to attend Bowling Green State University and major in business or finance.

Sieberg is the daughter of Kai and Eva Sieberg and her host parents are Ken and Jenny Finley. She is a member of the golf team, international club and the musical.

She is an exchange student and her mom, Eva Rheineck-Sieberg, was an exchange student at Eastwood in 1990-91. After her year here at Eastwood, she plans to finish school in Germany and then study international management or become a pilot.

Peters is the son of Amy and Ben Peters. He is a member of the basketball and track teams. He works at Nazareth Hall.

He plans to attend Bowling Green State University and would like to become a model.

Barman is the daughter of Troy Barman, Sarah Ramirez and Emilio Ramirez. She is involved in Tri-M, she runs distance on the track and field team and she is a seven-year participant of Gliding Stars Adaptive Skating Program. She is active in the high school band and is the 2019 marching band field commander.

Sechkar is the son of Jacob and Elisabeth Sechkar. He is a member of the soccer and track teams and also is a part of Eastwood’s marching and concert bands, jazz band and a member of Tri-M and the chess club.

Young is the daughter of Brett and Kelli Young. She is a member of the soccer and track teams as well as FFA, Key Club and People Inc. She is also active in the 4-H club Country Roots.

Jared is the son of Jamie and Kourtney Jared. He plays basketball and baseball and is an active member of the FFA.

Smith is the daughter of Daniel and Abbey Smith. She plays softball and is a member of One Step Ahead, Key Club and Book Buddies. She also helps her church by knotting quilts to send overseas.

Schwartz is the son of Sabrina Goodman and John Schwartz. He plays baseball and basketball.

The junior queen and king were Braylin Sheets and Cainan Eckel.

Braylin, a first grader, is the daughter of Landry and Jenny Sheets. She plays soccer for Eastwood and is a 4-H Cloverbud in the Country Roots club. She would like to be a gymnastics coach and soccer player.

Cainan, in kindergarten, is the son of Nathan and Katie Eckel. He is a member of the Eastwood biddy wrestling team. He wants to be a farmer.
