Perrysburg woman talks about transgender experience

Karen Marie Vaughn, who is transgender, a former U.S. Marine and volunteer firefighter for the Perrysburg Fire Division, will speak Wednesday at Gathering Volumes, 196 E. South Boundary St., at 7:30 p.m.

Vaughn was employed by Fiat Chrysler for 32 years before retiring to begin her career as an author, speaker and LGBT advocate. She is the parent of a transgender child and runs several support groups for the transgender community. She currently lives in Perrysburg.
