McCOMB — The Elmwood boys and girls cross country teams both placed third at the Blanchard Valley Conference cross country meet Saturday.
Elmwood sophomore Alayna Beasley took third overall in the girls race and broke Elmwood’s school record time, finishing in 18:53. The previous record was held by Makayla Mohre (19:14).
Riverdale won the girls championship behind individual champion, senior Allison Woodruff (18:40.76). The Elmwood boys placed behind league champion Liberty-Benton and runner-up Van Buren.
In the girls race, Riverdale scored 39 points, followed by Van Buren (55), Elmwood (55, third on a tie-breaker),and Liberty-Benton (64).
Elmwood senior Laura Tanner placed sixth in 19:45.7, sophomore Grace Morgart was 10th in 20:59.4, sophomore Janessa Childress was 18th in 23:25.1, and freshman Regan Delamattre was 20th in 23:57.3.
Every boy on the Elmwood team set a personal record with junior Dylan Armentrout leading the way with a time of 16:55.03, placing ninth overall.
Liberty-Benton junior Jackson Hotstettler won the boys individual race with a time of 15:38.76.
Elmwood junior Gavin Minich was 13th with a time of 17:20.51, sophomore Trevor Shaffer was 20th, finishing in 18:00.91, sophomore Gavin Reinhart was 21st (18:04.18), sophomore Aiden Reinhart was 25th (18:44.47), sophomore Kayden Lindquist was 35th (19:23.09), senior Evan Barringer was 39th (19:55.46),and junior Jakobi Turner was 47th (21:47.04).
L-B scored 20 points, followed by VB (67), Elmwood (84), Pandora-Gilboa (102), Leipsic (121) and Riverdale (128).
