A former Bowling Green man has been indicted for allegedly intimidating an attorney and a Risingsun man has accused of endangering children.
On Sept. 18, a Wood County grand jury indicted Shaun David Powell, 41, formerly of Bowling Green and currently of Toledo, for intimidation of an attorney, victim or witness in a criminal case, and intimidation, both third-degree felonies.
On Oct. 18, 2022, he allegedly threatened to harm or intimidate an attorney because of his or her involvement in a criminal or delinquent child action or proceeding; and allegedly recorded or filed material with malicious purpose in order to intimidate or hinder the duties of a public servant or witness.
As the alleged victim is a member of the Wood County Prosecutor’s Office, a request has been filed for the appointment of a special prosecutor.
A warrant has been issued for Powell’s arrest.
The grand jury also indicted Kyle Wayne Hicks, 21, Risingsun, for two counts of endangering children, one a third-degree felony and one a second-degree felony.
On July 23, the F3 alleges he created a substantial risk to the health and safety of a 2-month-old by violating the duty of care, which resulted in serious physical harm; and the F2 asserts he abused the infant, causing serious physical harm.
The grand jury also indicted:
Nathan Douglas Keeler, 32, Toledo, for theft and two counts of identity fraud, all fifth-degree felonies. On Aug. 7, he allegedly stole a debit card and twice presented that identification as his own.
A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
Gale Lamar Jones III, 44, Cincinnati, for possession of cocaine, a felony of the fifth degree; money laundering and two counts of having weapons while under disability, all third-degree felonies. On June 22, he allegedly was found in possession of cocaine, attempted a transaction with the purpose to execute a corrupt activity, and was found in possession of a handgun after being found guilty of two felonies in Hamilton County, in 2007 and 2015.
If found guilty, he may have to forfeit $21,545 in currency, a digital scale, an iPhone, and a SCCY CPX-1 semi-automatic pistol.
Jeremy Michael Bretz, 45, North Baltimore, for possession of a fentanyl-related compound, a fifth-degree felony. On June 11, he allegedly was found in possession of a fentanyl-related compound.
Bretz was indicted again for aggravate possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. On Sept. 5, he allegedly was found in possession of methamphetamine.
David Allen Phillip Edwards, 47, Northwood, for domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony. On Aug. 29, police were dispatched to Bay Park Hospital, where the alleged victim told them she was there for separate injuries not related to what happened earlier that day. She told officers Edwards threw her phone at her overhand with a decent amount of force. It struck her upper lip, causing a cut.
Randall K. Ralph Jr., 45, Fostoria, for domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony. On Aug. 23, Ralph allegedly struck a family member several times on the face with a closed fist.
Jesus Vasquez Garcia, 56, Bowling Green, for theft, a fifth-degree felony. From March 22-June 9, he allegedly deprived Walmart of merchandise valued at more than $1,000.
Samantha Beebe, 29, Rossford, for domestic violence, a first-degree misdemeanor; and assault, a fourth-degree felony. On Aug. 8, she alleged struck a household member with a closed fist and then caused physical harm to a Rossford police officer as he was walking her into the jail.
Joseph David Kuralt, 40, Canal Fulton, for receiving stolen property, a fourth-degree felony. On Aug. 31 in Perrysburg, he was found with the keys of a stole 2022 Ford F-250 pickup truck.
Haley McNutt, 28, Toledo, for trespass in a habitation when is person is present or likely to be present, a fourth-degree felony. The offense allegedly occurred Aug. 16.
Jamar Edward Duhart, 40, Toledo, for three counts of grand theft of a motor vehicle, all fourth-degree felonies; four counts of breaking and entering and two counts of possessing criminal tools, all fifth-degree felonies. On June 13, he allegedly deprived through deception a 2024 Croft trailer from Great Lakes Rental after using bolt cutters to break into the business. Also on June 13, he allegedly broke into United Rentals as well as Dave’s Running Shop, where he allegedly stole an enclosed trailer. On June 16, he allegedly broke into AES Scales LLC and stole a car trailer.
Co-defendants Elijah David Estrada, 30, North Babylon, New York; James Malcom Somerset Jr., 32, Laurelton, New York; and Darrien Michael Francis, 27, Jamaica, New York, for theft and four counts of identity fraud, all fifth-degree felonies; and receiving stolen property, a fourth-degree felony. On July 6, they allegedly stole merchandise from Lowe’s valued at more than $1,000 by using four identities other than their own.
Warrants have been issued for their arrests.
Nathanial A. Craft, 28, Dayton, for failure to register, a third-degree felony. In October 2014, he was convicted of gross sexual imposition in Shelby County. From April 1-Aug. 29, he failed to register or send notice of his address as required.
A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
Roger P. Irelan, 42, Toledo, for two counts of failure to provide notice of change of address, both third-degree felonies. In April 2023, he was convicted on attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and in November 2005 he was convicted of gross sexual imposition, both in Henry County. On July 12, he failed to provide a change of address as required.
Lorenzo Collins, 35, of Toledo and currently in jail, for failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony; receiving stolen property, a fourth-degree felony; and vandalism and obstructing official business, both fifth-degree felonies. On Aug. 26, he allegedly fled on foot after his vehicle was disabled following a pursuit northbound on I-75 near Northwood. During the foot pursuit, the officer was injured climbing a fence in order to follow Collins. The officer was transported to Perrysburg Mercy Hospital where he was diagnosed with a closed head injury and neck spasm. Officers were notified the vehicle Collins was operated was reported stolen and failed to stop when signaled to do so. During the pursuit, he allegedly rammed the cable barrier on I-75, damaging it, before crashing near mile post 199.
Michael Mockensturm Lauffer, 27, of Toledo and currently in jail, for failure to provide notice of change of address, a third-degree felony. On Aug. 20, he allegedly failed to notify officials of his change of address as required after being convicted of gross sexual imposition in December 2019 in Wood County.
Holly Marie Thompson, 39, Findlay, for theft, a fifth-degree felony. On Aug. 30, she allegedly removed 19 brand name clothing items from Kohl’s valued at $1,103 without paying.
Fred Wright, 62, Cygnet, for domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony. On Aug. 31, he allegedly grabbed a household member by the biceps and repeatedly slammed her back against a wall.
