Elsie F Terwilliger, 86, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away on Monday September 16, 2024.
She was born on August 2, 1938, to the late Reuel and Margaret (Myers) Gulnac in Fisher, Pennsylvania. She married Wallace “Vern” Terwilliger on June 6, 1959, and he survives in Bowling Green.
When Elsie and Vern were first married, they journeyed from Pennsylvania to Washington State so that Vern could continue his education. Elsie worked as a bank teller to help support them while Vern earned his advanced degrees in Mathematics. Upon settling in Bowling Green, Elsie was an amazing homemaker, providing love and care for her two daughters and husband while making sure the household was running smoothly and ensuring that everyone had what they needed.
She enjoyed entertaining her friends and family, hosting university events, bridge club and numerous holiday dinners and was a member of the Wood County Hospital Guild for many years. Elsie also enjoyed traveling with her family and friends.
Along with her husband of 65 years, Wallace, Elsie is survived by her daughters Lori Terwilliger of Bowling Green, Ohio, Lisa (Chuck) Bresler of Fostoria, Ohio, and brother Jim (Marilyn) Gulnac of Erie, Pennsylvania.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Yvonne Avery and Barbara Love.
Memorial contributions may be given in Elsie’s honor to Doctors Without Borders or to the Wood County Hospital Guild.
A graveside service for Elsie will be held privately with the family at Oak Grove Cemetery.
