Gerald R. “Dick” Savial

Gerald R. “Dick” Savial, 90 of Bowling Green, and formerly of Dunbridge, OH, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at Bowling Green Manor.

He was born on August 12, 1934 to Clarence and Helen (Irwin) Savial in McCutchenville, OH. He married Marge Helen Schramm on January 1, 1955 in Perrysburg, OH. Dick and Marge raised two children and celebrated over 58 years of marriage together, until Marge’s passing in May of 2013.

Dick retired as a maintenance worker following 46 years of employment with the Cargill Grain Elevator in Maumee. He also worked part-time many years for Speck’s Auctions.

He loved the outdoors, maintaining his yard, tending to his garden, hunting and fishing. Shortly after retiring, he and Marge enjoyed their winters in Florida, and he continued the tradition after her passing up through the Spring of 2020.

Dick is survived by his son, Mike (Lynn) Savial of Cygnet. Grandchildren: Kris, Katy (Scott), Kelly (Andy), Erin, Jennifer (Brian), and Brian (Selia). Great-grandchildren: Lucas, Trent, Cora, Ryan, Hannah, Lily, Ben, Anthony, Nathan, and Josie. Sisters: Carol Enders, Ida Peters, and son-in-law, Mark Sanchez.

In addition to his wife Marge, he was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Marcy Sanchez, and sister, Rose Feasel.

Per Dick’s request there will be no services.

Dick will be laid to rest next to Marge in New Belleville Ridge Cemetery in Dowling.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to: Natures Nursery.
