BG man in jail for drug trafficking

A Bowling Green man is spending 30 days in jail after being found guilty of trafficking in drugs.

Julian Alexander Watkins, 21, appeared Sept. 5 in the courtroom of Wood County Common Pleas Judge Joel Kuhlman.

He had pleaded guilty in July to two counts aggravated trafficking in drugs, aggravated possession of drugs and counterfeiting.

Kuhlman imposed a sentence of three years of community control and a $5,000 fine.

Watkins must also serve 30 days in the Wood County Jail and forfeit $5,020, a digital scale, a 3D printed firearm and numerous cell phones.

On June 15 and July 3, 2023, he sold or offered to sell psilocyn and on July 7, 2023, he was found in possession of more than five times the bulk amount of psilocyn.

Walkins had been indicted in April for three counts aggravated trafficking in drugs, all fourth-degree felonies; one count aggravated trafficking in drugs, a first-degree felony; possession of drugs, a second-degree felony; possessing criminal tools, a fifth-degree felony; and counterfeiting, a fourth-degree felony.

The additional counts were dismissed at sentencing.
