
BRADNER — Nell I. Enright, age 90, of Bradner, Ohio, formerly of Port Clinton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 14, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at the Bridge Hospice Care Center in Bowling Green, Ohio. She was born on October 29, 1932, in Cygnet, Ohio to the late Harley J. & Velma E. (Boyer) Speaker. Nell married Robert E. Enright on June 14, 1952, in Angola, Indiana; and he preceded her in passing on May 14, 1999.
Surviving Nell are her children, Robert A. Enright of Bradner, Penny (Roger) King of Holland, Kristy (Chuck) Ruble of Bradner; grandchildren, Abby (Myke) Brown of Scotland, Sarah (Jeremiah) Knox of Toledo, Ben (Jackie) King of Toledo, Chris (Diana) Ruble of Helena, Kerry (Tony) Hansen of Kansas; and 17 great-grandchildren all of whom she adored tremendously. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harley & Velma; loving husband, Robert; and all her siblings, Margie (Loran) Scoville, Edna (Gene) McClain, Bud Speaker, Harold (Evelyn) Speaker, Marie (Harold) Helvoit, Lester Speaker, Betty (Dorsey) Croyle, John Speaker, Phyllis (Harold) Shaffer, Harlean (Jim) Wickard.
Nell was a 1950 graduate of Cygnet High School, and then enjoyed spending her life caring for her family. She will always be remembered for her great passion for cooking and baking, and would always provide a dish for every occasion, or “just because.” Nell was a member of the Albert Bowe American Legion Post #338 in Bradner, and was also a member of the Nugent’s Canal Auxiliary where she was also named “Grand Lady of the River” 3 years in a row.
Per Nell’s request, a private graveside service will be held at a later date at Bradner Cemetery. All arrangements have been entrusted to Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne, Ohio.
