The eclipse is coming: Klein tells what to expect

The Exchange Club of Bowling Green welcomes Jeff Klein, director of Wood County EMA, to their weekly meeting on June 13. He will be speaking about preparations for the April 2024 Solar Eclipse and how this natural event will affect the activities of the county.

Klein has spent his adult life in public safety as a firefighter/paramedic and retired as fire chief for the City of Perrysburg.

Heis the director of the Wood County Emergency Management Agency and president of the Emergency Management Association of Ohio. The EMA is responsible for preparing for natural, technological, and man-made disasters. Jeff believes the best way to respond to a disaster is to have a prepared and resilient community.

Everyone in Northwest Ohio will be impacted in some manner by the 2024 Solar Eclipse. Regarding the eclipse, Kleinwill speak as to timing, what to expect, and how we can prepare to make this once in a lifetime a positive experience.

The Exchange Club is a group of community-focused individuals that meets weekly to “exchange” ideas, listen to interesting speakers, network, and socialize. The club meets at the Bowling Green Country Club on Tuesdays at noon. Meetings are open to the public – no reservation necessary – with a $13 fee for lunch.
