The manhunt continues for two men who jumped the fence and escaped Thursday from the NorthWest Community Corrections Center, 1740 E. Gypsy Lane Road.

According to an email, text and phone message, the public is asked not to approach them and call 911.

The men are Justin Firman, 36, Deshler, and Dakota Embry, 25, of Bryan.

Warrants will be issued for their arrest on charges of escape, according to Bowling Green Municipal Court staff.

At 8:05 p.m., the men gained access over the fence of the recreation yard during evening recreation. Staff held a formal count at 8:25 p.m. to determine the identities of the residents who escaped.

Law enforcement was contacted at approximately 8:29 p.m.

Firman is white, 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 190 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

He was indicted in March 2022 for abduction and domestic violence. He was sentenced in January to three years on community control with 90 days in jail followed by completion of the SEARCH program at the NWCCC.

Embry is white, 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 163 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

Embry was sentenced to the program after violating community control sanctions imposed in Henry County after he was convicted of possession of a fentanyl-related compound.

One man was wearing black sweatpants and a black sweatshirt with gray shoes. The other man was wearing a green/cream flannel and jeans.

NWCCC will conduct an overall assessment of policy and procedure to identify any areas of improvement as a result of the incident.

Updates will be provided when more information is available.

The NorthWest Community Corrections Center is a community-based correctional facility that serves as a sentencing option for adult males convicted of a felony-level offense.
