WBGU-PBS is relaunching one of its flagship programs, “Scenic Stops,” with new episodes airing Thursdays at 8:30 p.m. beginning June 15.

The local destination travel show originally ran from 2012-15 and then re-aired for several years. The new version debuts with a slightly different name, “Scenic Stops and Stories,” adding a storytelling component to the program. Its goal is much the same – to showcase the narratives of the known and unknown regions of Ohio and parts of Michigan as well as highlighting the area’s top talent, landmarks and places of commerce including everything from artists, entrepreneurs and historians to museums, breweries and caverns.

Viewers can watch the program on-air or live stream at wbgu.org. Episodes also will be available for free on-demand streaming the Friday following its original air date at wbgu.org/scenicstops.

“It seemed like everywhere we went, someone would mention ‘Scenic Stops,’ and say how much they enjoyed it, asking if we would bring it back,” said Tina Simon, WBGU-PBS general manager. “We’ve been talking about it for a while and are so excited that we’ve been able to reinvent the program.”

Those who know of a person, place or thing that would make an interesting subject, are encouraged to call the station at 419-372-2700 or send an email to [email protected].

WBGU-PBS is a PBS affiliate and partner of Bowling Green State University serving a 19-county region with award-winning programming and educational resources. For more information, visit www.wbgu.org.
