ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Ohio Northern University junior Keegan Digby (Otsego) earned his third career All-America honor on Friday afternoon at the Polisseni Track and Field Complex at St. John Fisher.

Digby finished in sixth place with a toss of 16.71 meters.

“It was a really nice day, we had great weather. I felt really good coming into today and was hoping for some better throws, but overall I’ve been very consistent the last few weeks of the season,” Digby said.

“Being a three-time All-American is pretty great, really cool to be able to say that, was hoping for a little more but can’t complain too much.”

Digby’s first throw of the day measured 16.08 meters, which he immediately bettered to 16.71 meters on his second throw to make it to the finals seeded sixth. His throw held his position throughout the final and secured his All-American status.

Digby is now a two-time All-American outdoors. His other honor came at last year’s NCAA Championships where he put the shot 16.38 meters and finished seventh. He was fourth at this year’s NCAA Indoor Championships with a throw of 16.98 meters.

“I thought he looked really comfortable and threw well in a very tough field,” ONU throws coach Jason Fisher said of Digby’s performance.

“His experience on this stage definitely helped him today. I know he is a little disappointed with the outcome, but it’s great to be an All-American, especially being three for three at national meets.”
