Rossford Memorial Day Parade hosted by American Legion Post 533

ROSSFORD — Memorial Day will be celebrated in the city with a parade and ceremony on May 28.

The Memorial Day parade begins at 1:30 p.m. in downtown, marching to Veterans Memorial Park and concluding with a ceremony. Lineup will be at 1 p.m. at the Huntington Bank, 516 Dixie Hwy.

American Legion Post 533 will lead the parade and step off at the corner of Superior and Bergin streets.

The parade will march west on Superior Street to Eagle Point Road, along Hannum Avenue and end at Veterans Memorial Park for a ceremony.

American Legion Commander David Avalos said that local veterans are invited to participate in the parade, and that the Rossford High School band will play in the parade and will be joined by community leaders.

The speaker for the ceremony will be Michael Myers, U.S. Army Vietnam veteran.

During the ceremony, names will be read of all the fallen veterans from the Rossford, Ross Township and Perrysburg Township areas.

Afterward, the American Legion post, 145 Bergin St., will host an open house. Food and beverages will be served and the public is invited to attend.
