William A. Carpenter (Bill) of Enid, Oklahoma went home to be with his Lord and Savior on May 5, 2023. Bill was born on August 20, 1941 to the late Milton and Elsie Carpenter of Bowling Green, OH. Bill married Marcia Wensel on October 19, 1963, and she preceded him in death. In January 2020 Bill married Sharon Pendleton of Enid, OK. Bill was a life long farmer. He was known as a pioneer in the arena of no-till farming. He was co-founder of the Oklahoma No-Till Association. Bill was actively involved in his church, and taught Sunday School for many years. Bill is survived by his wife Sharon, children Cindy Carpenter-Smith (Frederick), deceased of Dallas, TX, Wayne (Jeri) Carpenter of Enid, Ok, Ken (Brenda) Carpenter of Enid, OK, Keith Carpenter of Edmond, OK, and Roy (Christina) Carpenter of Houston, TX. Bill had ten grandchildren, and 2 step-grandchildren.
Siblings Nancy Jones (Jim) deceased, Richard Carpenter (Judith), Thomas Carpenter (Diana), and Patricia Carpenter all of Bowling Green, OH. Bill was preceded in death by his sister Mary Carpenter. A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at Central Assembly of God in Enid, OK. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in Bill’s memory to Hillsdale Christian School, P.O.
