WBGU-PBS documentary earns 2 Emmy nominations

WBGU-PBS has garnered two Emmy nominations from the Central Great Lakes chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for the documentary “The Magic of Mazza.”

The recipients will be announced at the 54th annual CGL gala awards ceremony June 17 in Westlake, Ohio.

WBGU-PBS nominations include:

Editor: Long Form Content – Producers Meghan Murray and Kaitlyn Kuch Finkler

Photographer (Videographer): Long Form Content – Producers Zach Mills, Kaitlyn Kuch Finkler, Brandon Walters and Meghan Murray

The hour-long documentary explores the origins and wonders of the University of Findlay’s Mazza Museum – home to the largest and most diverse collection of original picture book art in the world. The WBGU-PBS production team spent nearly three years filming authors/artists across the country for the documentary while navigating travel restrictions put into place due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

It features interviews and the work of Don Tate, Rosemary Wells, Patricia Polacco, Matthew Reinhart, Tom Lichtenheld, Steven Kellogg, Wendell Minor, Marc Brown, Jim Arnosky and the late Jerry Pinkney.
